P31P-day 9, a lit lamp

We are wired differently. My husband could sleep through a volcanic eruption. While I can hear my children whimper between two closed doors and a noise maker. My physical lamp stays lit.

And though there are things to be said about this physical lamp and the heart behind its continual burning, the Lord is leading me in a different direction today. And I believe that someone needs to hear this.

There are seasons where the night seems darker than usual.

The night of life brought on by circumstance, fear, betrayal, or unbelief. A darkness in our homes or families or bodies that takes away our breath and challenges our sanity. A darkness heavy and blinding.

Some nights seem so very dark.

Someone needs to hear this today.

These are the times, sister-friends, that by His grace, our lamps must stay lit. Our lamps that shine His glorious Light. The Light of hope and faith and love.

He is Light. In Him there is no darkness.

Jesus declares, "I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life." John 8:12

And He beseeches His own,

"You are the light of the world...Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven." Matthew 5:14, 16

Our light is His light.
As we follow after Him, darkness flees.

It may appear to be darkness around you, friend. But do not let your lamp go out in its midst. Abide in Him. Stand on His promises. Believe Him faithful. Let that light shine.

Her lamp does not go out by night.
