The Mess Overtakes

Just wanting to keep it real this Saturday morning. For all of you who ponder the lie that my life must be perfect, that I never overreact, and that my kids don't make any messes--THINK AGAIN!

This picture was taken in recent weeks--though it could have been any given day--after just one trip around town. I am not sure if you can fully grasp the level of "pileage." After taking my one small bag inside, I opened the door to the Bling, and had to take a deep breath as happy meal toys and coloring sheets fell desperately out onto the ground in hopes of some freedom. Then I grabbed my camera to document.

Are you little people, serious? Are you animals? Does everything in this car have a magnet attached, and is the floor a refrigerator? From coats to toys to magazines--torn into a multitude of pieces by my little guy--I simply stared for what seemed to be hours as time stopped while I assessed my plan.

Oh yes. I live in the real world. I just want Jesus with me.

Thank you. I feel like I am normal again. I opened the door to the minivan yesterday, and it was windy out, and, well... many things flew out. Then I found an entire bag of cheese nips that had not only been opened and dumped out, but then ground into a fine dust. As I looked in the van, I pondered the miracle that there are not rodents living in it. Awful.

Oh girl. I totally know. The food pieces alone could feed a family of 4 for at least two days.

Hear you! It's so funny that you wrote on this today. I am literally headed outside to clean out our minivan b/c it is so awful and I am taking a lady with me to one of my parties. Okay, I know it's prideful, but I just could not bear the thought of the stuff junking up the car anymore! Am reminded of how careful I need to be in considering the other "junk" in my life and God's desire to clean it out! Whole lot worse than crayons, dirty socks and month-old cheerios. Thanks, Lara, for keepin' it real.

Atleast you weren't in search of an ODOR!!!!! I usually have to find the source of some rancid odor, which typically is my sons morning milk froma week ago. The summer is particularly rough.....

Paige, the worst is if the milk spills into your floorboard carpet...in the summer heat. Absolutely disgusting.
